The Joys Of Contemorary Dance
Join queer contemporary dance artist Max Burgess for a 2 hour workshop diving into the basics of contemporary dance improvisation. Max will welcome you to the world of devised practice, using tasking, imagery, and scores to connect with different embodiments and capacities held within our individual body. We will sift through different exercises and intentions, collaborate openly, and share individual experience to help elevate discovery in shared practice. These tools can then be taken away to help strengthen individual practice in all methodologies of dance.
Max is a recent graduate of the New Zealand School of Dance and now is back in Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country defining their own practice and creating work which has a deep affinity for the queer experience. Max grew up in commercial choreography inspired by street styles through the Tuggeranong Arts Centre’s Fresh Funk dance programme before pursuing training in Contemporary Dance.
This workshop is welcoming to all bodies and abilities.
GRUMBLE BOOGIE workshop (Coming soon)
Grumble Boogie is an aerobic dance class led by performance artist Betty Grumble. An hour long dance meditation, heart pump and exercise in Thank You Body. Grumble Boogie is a place to be with our bodies, in joy, in playfulness, warmth and possibility. Grumble Boogie is an open platform class, all levels of movement welcome.
Grumble Boogie harnesses daggy disco aerobic flow to create an hour of movement for release and rejuvenation. Thank You Body!

Step up your stage presence in a 2hr workshop with LADY FOX (all the way from Melbourne).
Lady Fox has the Melbourne Jazz and Blues Scene in a Buzz with her Vintage Themed shows. Her in depth story telling and emotional song delivery have transported Countless Audience members back to the golden era of Music. Reconnecting with the greats like, Ella Fitzgerald, Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, and most recently the Sex bomb Marilyn Monroe in her self produced “Shades of Marilyn” show.
In this workshop, Lady Fox explores the steps she uses to establishing a confident and captivating presence that that exudes joy and the freedom to continually grow. Used as a performer for stage, photo shoots or just entering a party of Function and leaving everyone remembering you are a Foxey Lady (Men, Women, Aliens and Fairy tale creatures welcome and no experience necessary).

All That Jazz- Broadway - with a Burlesque twist! Channel your inner Broadway Bombshell and learn a cheeky twist on an iconic musical theatre choreography. In this 1 hour workshop Eva Devore will teach you a choreography inspired by the femme fatale classic, Chicago. A burlesque version of the iconic Fosse choreography, learn tantalising moves and emotive expressions. You’re gonna be a star! Eva Devore is a Burlesque Performer, Costume creatrix and self-confessed musical theatre nerd. It was seeing Wicked live at the age of 15 that set Eva on the path to creating for theatre and ignited her thirst for performance!

Eva Devore Deco Dolls - 1920s Charleston Burlesque
Blending the high kicks and frenzied feet of the infamous 1920s Charleston with the tease of burlesque. This workshop is a great introduction for beginners to the Charleston style, covering a range of basic steps, and popping together in a cute routine. Students will learn about the history of the Charleston as well as a variety of steps that they can practice and build on.
Cairo Nights BellyDance

A two hour tutorial on Egyptian style belly dance, featuring the latest music, moves and trends to come out of Cairo. Students will walk away with a brand new choreography to one of the most popular songs in Egypt right now, complete with a translation and transliteration of the song. Kirsty has recently returned from one month in Cairo where she studies with master teacher Teito Seif at the Al Sadaf dance festival.

Co-hosting the popular circus cabaret Papillon that toured Australia, they have also hosted awards nights, gala events, variety shows, comedy shows, late night events and kids carnivals.
They've toured around the world and performed and MCs in different countries across the globe. This workshop will talk through some of the do's and don't's of MCing, give you exercises and tricks as an MC.
This workshop is suitable for everyone from absolute beginners interested in MCing for the first time, to more experienced MCs who just want to learn a few new tricks to make them even better.
